Zambales Chromite
The Zambales Chromite deposit is located five kilometres north of the Acoje project, on Luzon Island in the Philippines. The deposit is 40 per cent owned by ENK, and 60 per cent owned by local Philippine partner, Montemina Resources Corporation
The deposit covers an area of 540 hectares and has a JORC inferred resource of 23.5 million tonnes grading 1.18%nickel and 0.05% cobalt.
The JORC inferred resource was based on testing in the 1970s including 343 test pits and 66 Auger holes and a further 54 test pits excavated in 2007.
Currently a drill programme is underway aimed at upgrading the JORC Inferred resource to an Indicated resource. The programme consists of 255 holes across the license area, totalling 3000 metres. ENK expects that the drilling program will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2012.
